If you're a worship leader, you may have looked at integrated tools before—tools to make the organizational aspects easier in order to have more time to focus on the calling of worship. Now isn't that the Holy Grail!

SetPicker tries to do just that, and has an impressive list of functions that can speed all that time spent in front of a computer. Don't use it to add to work you don't already do, but for music work that can be tedious and time-consuming.

Look over the list of features, and see it in action at:

     True Worshipers of God Series

This is another installment of Pastor Dan Gardner's series, True Worshipers of God. For this complete series on audio, go to WorshipToonz on this page. You can also find much of Dan's music, recorded and published, on this page. Each song has its own audio and leadsheet demos.

Session 7: Spiritual Warfare
in Praise and Worship
       Dan Gardner

  • I Peter 5:8,9 - “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith...”
  • Ephesians 6:12 - “For we wrestle (conflict until one emerges victor) not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

  • I John 4:4 - “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them (spirits not of Jesus): because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
  • John 16:33 - Jesus speaking: “…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

  • II Chronicles 20:15,17 - “...for the battle is not yours, but God’s… Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you...”
  • Zechariah 4:6 - “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”

  • Use the Weapons/Armor He Has Given Us
Ephesians 6:11-13 - “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil… .For we wrestle not against .....Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all (or overcome all), to stand.”
  • Take on… helmet of salvation, shield of faith, breastplate of righteousness, sword of the spirit, belt of truth, feet fitted with readiness from gospel of peace!
  • 2 Corinthians 10:4,5 - “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…” praise and worship are effective weapons in spiritual warfare!

We must take up our weapons of praise and worship and use them to stand strong and see the Lord defeat the enemy. As we praise and worship the Lord, His presence is manifest (Just as our praise is evident in both spiritual and natural realms, so is His presence manifest in the heavenlies and in our midst). It is then His presence that defeats the enemy! We don’t fight the battle in our strength - our responsibility is to:
1) keep our trust and confidence in God,
2) call upon the Lord to confront the enemy,
3) resist the enemy by refusing to give in to his onslaught, and
4) rejoice in the triumph the Lord will bring.
Praise and worship do this in a powerful way. Consider these Scriptures:
  • Psalm 22:3 - God inhabits our praises ! (TEHILLAH- singing, established place of praise).
  • Psalm 68:1 - Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.
If we will let God arise, His enemies cannot stand in His presence! How does He arise?
  • Psalm 18:3 - I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised : so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
  • Psalm 8:1-2 - O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise (NIV - strength (KJV), loud powerful praise) because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
  • Psalm 149:6,7 - Let the high praises (TEHILLAH) of God be in our mouth and a two-edged sword in our hand - GOD will then execute judgement and deal with the enemy!
Though Satan goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, the “LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH (PRAISE)” (Rev. 5:5, Jesus) is MANIFEST! The LION of the people of PRAISE is greater than all the roaring of the devil!
  • Proverbs 28:1 - “The wicked flee when no one pursueth (they flee at a roar): but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
This is because the LION OF JUDAH is manifest through us in our PRAISE!
Praise with: (The “Expressions” of Praise in Warfare)
  • Hands - Exodus 17:11,12 When Moses held up hands, Israel prevailed;
Psalm 144:1 - “Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.”
  • Feet - Exodus 15 - Israel danced in celebration of victory.
  • Voice - Psalm 47:1 -”Shout unto God with a voice of triumph”

  • Isaiah 54:17 - “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper...”
  • II Corinthians 2:14 - “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.”
  • Revelation 12:10,11 - “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcome him by the blood of the Lamb (our access to His presence) and by the word of their testimony (our declaration of the Lord and the power of His presence); and they loved not their lives unto death.”
We, the people of God, will emerge victorious, for Jesus has and will conquer every foe; we must, however, learn the “battlefield tactics” of responding to spiritual battles spiritually and not in a CARNAL manner of the FLESH.
