From the moment I first heard Doyle Dykes on one of his recordings, Songs of Faith and Freedom, I was stunned. I introduced the CD to a friend at a picnic, and we sat spellbound for a half hour in the car listening to this virtuoso take paths you'd never expect with familiar melodies.
It's likely you've already heard of Doyle, given the many accolades he's received through the years. if you haven't, we're blessed to be able to introduce him to you. Chet Atkins named Doyle as one guitarist he would PAY to go see.
Some videos are here. Try the second video on the page. The second song in the clip is What a Friend We Have in Jesus. The first video is a general overview of some of Doyle's many styles.
Check his itinerary to see if he's coming to a city near you.

True Worshipers of God Series
You know, freebies can't go on forever... That could be part of the ongoing philosophy at ChristianWeed.com, a part of the Weed network, a novel way to let you hear full-length songs three times before paying for them. Great for songwriters as well and everyone involved.
Take advantage of their offer—a complimentary $5 to start saving your favorites. Once paid for, they can burnt to CD, made into mp3s, put on up to three computers.
The money you pay for a song gets distributed among a number of people (including potentially yourself). Especially if you're a songwriter, consider becoming a part of what they're doing!
III. THE WOMAN AT THE WELL
A. What was Jesus’ revelation of the Samaritan woman?
1. vs. 9, 20—1) Her relationships were impeded by bias.
2) Her worship was based on location and method, not relationship.
2. vs. 14-18— She was trying to fill spiritual need with physical relationships.
B. What was the Samaritan woman’s revelation of Jesus?
1. vs. 9— He didn't know who he was speaking to.
2. vs. 11— He didn't understand the process of drawing water.
3. vs. 15— He had something she wanted.
4. vs. 19— That He was a prophet.
5. vs. 29— The Christ.
Jesus delivered a message of worship to an outcast, one we would think was very unlikely to have received such a simple, but yet deep, essential truth to every life. He didn’t deliver this message to the “religious” order. Perhaps this woman’s ultimate honesty over her confusion about worship actually became a place
where she could receive the “truth” about worship. Sometimes thinking we know it all causes us more confusion than simply trusting in He who knows it all.
Jesus' message displayed the heart of the Father in choosing this woman. To say whosoever will may come… We don’t get right to come to Jesus; we come to Jesus to get right. The Samaritan woman kept seeking Jesus, asking questions. Jesus didn’t condemn her, but revealed the truth in love, which opened her heart to receive the truth and see the Father’s desire to make true worshipers out of confused worshipers, hypocritical worshipers, ungodly worshipers, slothful worshipers, apathetic worshipers, legalistic worshipers, and all others. He is not just interested in receiving worship, but making true worshipers. He is interested in relationship, not just worship activity.
Jesus displayed to us the heart of a true worshiper in this passage of Scripture, not only in the way he related to and dealt with the Samaritan woman, but also in acknowledging that He too, was a worshiper. Including Himself in verse 22, He says, “We know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.” In this
statement, He emphasizes that we shouldn’t be focused on where we should worship, or how we should worship, but on knowing who we worship. The Samaritan woman saw worship as a procedure and not as a person—that is, until she saw Jesus.
Here are two important areas of revelation in your Christian walk:
God reveals to you, and you reveal to yourself.
(Worship is one place where both happen).
As with the Samaritan woman, allow the revelation of yourself to bring CHANGE, HONESTY, and an OPEN spirit, that true worship may flow out of you, the TRUE WORSHIPER!
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
